A word from the owner, Scott Barrett.

Q. What distinguishes Barrett Builders from the rest?
A. There are many fine builders in the Twin Ports. This competition is good because it makes all of us do better work for the home owner. We work closely with the home owner and/or architects and designer to ensure that the home is exactly what the home owner envisions. We work to provide homes and remodling projects that fit into budgets and timelines. We also build each project as if it were our own which is why we’re known for our quality work.

We also specialize in building green and energy efficient homes to not only help our environment but to allow home owners a higher quality of living and less energy costs.

Q. How do you keep projects on schedule and budget?
A. We are very organized which allows us to build higher caliber homes in adequate timelines. However, being involved in all aspects of the building logistics is the key. I do the bid work, purchasing and communication with sub-contractors. Having one person manage these details ensures each project meets the home owners’ expectations in terms of quality. “I treat this issue like it’s my own home and my own checkbook. There are no surprises for home owners and that is the way I would want it,” Scott Barrett.

Q. What do you find most rewarding about building?
A. Seeing a project come to completion is a huge accomplishment but I really enjoy working with the home owners and seeing their excitement as the projects evolve. The biggest reward is when I receive a phone call from a friend of a friend who says Barrett Builders was recommended by one of my clients. I enjoy my work and find satisfaction in seeing a project go from an empty lot to a beautiful home. Likewise, with remodeling, it’s nice to see the before and after.
